Best Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos

The best way to keep your home tidy is to use a robot vacuum. It will pick up dust, pet hair and other particles on the surface.

Some robots are able to sync with smart assistants such as Alexa and Google Assistant for a hands-free experience. Look for models that are rechargeable and continue cleaning the area they left.

1. iRobot s8

This smart robot mop and vacuum is a great option for a wide range of households. It can be used to vacuum and mop and has a great navigation system that includes both GPS and laser sensors and offers a broad range of controls and features accessible through the app. It comes with a useful feature which allows you to create Cleaning zones in areas that require additional attention, as well as Keep Out zones in areas that you don't wish it to go. It also receives software updates, just like the other Roomba products, that make it better over time.

It's expensive however, it's also among the most advanced robot vacuums ZDNet has evaluated. It comes with a powerful battery that can clean the entire house in less than two hours. It can also switch between mopping and vacuuming with the press of the button. And unlike other self-emptying robots that require you to empty the bin after each run, this one automatically emptys itself into a larger waste container above its charging dock.

It also has many other features, such as intelligent obstacle avoidance, which utilizes cameras in conjunction with processor-powered smarts to recognize obstacles. It isn't often entangled or entrapped during a cleaning process and is also the most effective at avoiding power cables and other objects in my tests. However, it's not as effective in detecting pet waste or other hazards.

2. Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8

While Anker-owned Eufy has made an impact in the field of low-cost robot vacuums, it's not yet an all-in-one model that can also mop. The X8 Hybrid is a new model that offers a range of modern features and can compete with more expensive models.

The laser navigation system is the primary selling point of this machine. The X8 uses laser mapping technology that is more precise than previous Eufy devices. It takes less time to build a comprehensive map of your home and can store multiple maps. This is perfect for multi-floored homes.

The X8 is a decent vacuum cleaner for floors with no dust. It is able to effortlessly sling debris under the side brushes and into its 400ml dust bin. Its tyres are also very adept at hugging corners and edges even though they are circular. It's not the best cat litter picker, though, with our tests showing it can only remove about 90 percent of the fur off hard floors.

The basic mopping mode uses the same reservoir of water as the vacuuming mode. While this is a good option for spills that are not too large however, you aren't able to regulate the amount of water it consumes and this will reduce its effectiveness for more serious stains. It's effective in removing hair from pets. It has a higher rate of pick-up than the Roborock S7.

3. Miele RX2

The company is known for its quiet home appliances, Miele's RX2 robot vacuum has excellent cleaning power, stunning design and great navigation. But it has some operational hiccups that prevent it from being ranked as the best overall smart robot vacuum.

The RX2 is equipped with a dual-sensor mapping technology that uses a LIDAR to map an area, and a pair 3D scanning cameras to detect and staying clear of obstacles (such as furniture legs or pet waste). Once the room is identified and assigned, you can designate virtual no-go areas and favorite sections to the robot. You can also begin cleaning manually or change the cleaning mode, view live feeds from the onboard cameras and more on the main screen.

The RX2 is equipped with excellent sensors that can identify furniture and other obstructions immediately. The suction and sweeping power are top-notch cleaning up surface debris from medium-pile carpeting and embedded dust on floors that are unfinished. However, it's not exactly the most agile robot on the market. It's not the most efficient climber and has issues with metal threshold transition strips.

Some people buy robot vacuums for the convenience of setting up a schedule on an app, and then forgetting about them for weeks. It is essential for a robot to be capable of doing the job and that's why our ZDNet staff has tested and reviewed some of the most popular models in order to help you select the right one for your house.

4. Shark robot vacuum self empty ION

This budget robot looks like your standard robot, however it's upgraded in terms of performance and features. Its smart mapping system generates 3D and 2-D maps of your home and uses them to navigate around and avoid obstructions. It can even identify common obstacles such as furniture legs and power cords in real-time. This combination of sensors, together with a bump sensor, Shark robot vacuum self Empty and an infrared drop sensor which keeps it away from the stairs make it one of the most agile vacs we've tried.

It was able to walk over thick shag carpets and did not get stuck (unlike the RoboVac 11s, or Roomba 690-). Its navigation skills were impressive as well and its overall score on carpet and bare floors beat out the competition. It took in 98.5 percent of surface pet hair and litter from our lab test samples.

Its controls are a bit more basic than those of the competitors. There's an uniform cleaning button on the top and you can start it from the app or via voice command with Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also schedule weekly or daily cleanings, set up no-go zones and check its history of cleaning. Covered in stylish dark gray plastics, Ion feels sturdy and is attractive in your home. Its rear dust bin is accessible for emptying and removing the filter equally easy.

5. Eufy 11S

Eufy 11S is a good option for those looking for a robot vacuum that's simple and doesn't have any frills at a cost that is low. It's not equipped with some advanced features such as Alexa integration and digital mapping, which are available in higher-end models. However, if you do not need these features, you can save money.

This samsung robot vacuum is easy to use and set up. It does not require smartphone application or Wi-Fi pairing. However it does include an remote control that lets you choose between different modes and adjust suction level. It also lets you manually take the robovac off during scheduled cleaning.

During our tests, the 11S was extremely efficient in removing dirt and pet hair from hard floors and in low-pile carpets. Its slim profile made it easier to get under furniture and other low items that some of the larger robots could not reach. It was able to get easily over thresholds of doors and move between floors of different types to another.

The 11S, like other robots, will also eat some objects, such as cords and cat toys. The manufacturer says that you can prevent this by keeping such objects off the floor and using an organizer for cords if you can. It also recommends cleaning the dustbin on a regular basis by replacing the filters and washing or changing the brushes when needed.

Roomba 990 from iRobot

The Roomba 980 is iRobot's most popular robot vacuum. It's costly, but it's the best robot vacuum you can purchase. Its self-navigation and environmental mapping are a joy to behold. It also has more advanced automation features than most competitors, such as the ability to set virtual boundary lines using its mobile app. It's a capable robot vacuum, even if the app isn't the most responsive and the 980 spins when it is pushed over cables.

We love the 980 because it uses its iAdapt2.0 navigation sensors and visual simultaneity localisation and mapping (or vSLAM) to remember the floor plan of your home. It then uses this information to design an efficient and consistent cleaning path for each cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a cleaner vacuum than other high-end robot vacuums.

Other features of the 980 include dual multi-surface brushes that capture dirt from hard floors and carpets and an ejector brush that spins to sweep debris into the robotic vacuum’s bin. The sensors for floor tracking help it navigate across furniture and along edges, and Cliff Detect helps to prevent the Roomba from falling down the stairs. It also automatically returns to the base station for easy recharges between sessions. The bin capacity and battery life of the 980 aren't as great as those of other robot vacuums. However, it is an extremely reliable and sturdy machine that can keep floors clean for Shark Robot vacuum self empty a long time. hours.zcwa-robot-vacuum-cleaner-robotic-vacuum-and-mop-combo-compatible-with-alexa-wifi-app-self-charging-230ml-water-tank-for-pet-hair-hard-floors-and-low-pile-carpets-2764.jpg
